    Hello all
This all really started about 3 days ago with the download of East India Company off the Gamestop site. After installing the game, I tried launching it and received the message "MSVCP90.DLL is missing from the computer. Try reinstalling." Reinstall did nothing. Ran CHKDSK and it seemed to repair some files. After researching a bit found the suggestion to run SFC /scannow from an elevated command prompt. It said it found corrupt files but was unable to repair all of them (SFC details report attached).
I CAN run Witcher and a couple other games without the missing DLL message popping up although another program (MSI easy viewer) did receive the same message upon start up attempt.
I don't have a WIN7 disc because, of course, MSI did not provide one with this laptop. Hooray! Now I probably have to buy another copy of the software I already paid for! Awesome! I have a MSI recovery disc but I think the only options they provide is to wipe out the system and start over. I'm just about ready to try that.
    System specs:
MSI A6000 laptop (2 yrs old)
    WIN7 Home Premium SP1
    Pentium Dual core T4500 @2.30GHz
    4 GB Ram
100 GB of space on HD

Anyone who thinks they can help please try. I can't seem to get any support from PARADOX (EIC creators), Gamestop, MSI, or online. I'm pretty frustrated right now that apparently this system has severely corrupted files related to DirectX 11 (DXDIAG won't even run) and you cannot update, reinstall, or repair DirectX once the system thinks you are up to date. Despite all this, I can run most games and applications. Fun stuff.
I'm going to mess around with this MSI "recovery disc" and see what happens (likely nothing helpful). After that I guess I have to back up and wipe it all out. Any suggestions or thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks all. :crap

When I said I "reinstalled" I meant the game. It is recommended to try that to get the files repaired. Didn't work.
I ended up reinstalling the OS in order to repair the damaged DirectX files. That DID work. Also, I was able to actually launch the game (EIC) and run a quick battle. No more messages about missing DLL's or BSOD's. HOWEVER...once I tried launching the tutorial or campaign....."THE PROGRAM HAS EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM AND STOPPED WORKING> WINDOWS WILL LET YOU KNOW IF THERE IS A SOLUTION..."
Crash, crash, crash. Sheesh. I am functionally repaired but if any gamers want to offer any suggestions on how to get EIC up and working I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!
(On a total tangent..saw Dark Knight RIses today with kid. Awesome. Recommend highly! :boxing )
