Corrupt XP disk

    I recently had my PC shipped over to my new place of residence only to find that the HD boot sector is corrupt and unrecoverable. This does not bother me, since I can always reload the OS (XP Pro). There are however a couple of folders I need that I do not have backups for. If I install the HD as a slave on another PC I can find them but since they are privileged I cannot access them. Any ideas?
