I live in an apartment building and I plug in my wireless range expander and a full strength open network appears. I can only get the limited or no connectivity icon. I tried manually entering ip, subnet, dns, and can now connect, but can't receive any packets???

My main question is do I need access to the router to fix or is there something I can do to get this working? By the way neighbor with router is a friend who has given me permission.

    Hi

Glad you managed to fix this, but as someone else may stumble upon your original question, how did you fix it?
