Could Someone Help Me Out Because it Seems Vista is Having Problems

    Hi everyone, I just got a new computer with Vista Home Premium about a week ago and everything was fine until now, it runs a tiny bit slower and Ad-Aware is coming up with a lot of spyware files when it's scanning through weird directories I've never seen on my last computer. I tried to system restore, but it is having errors on multiple different restore points and will not work. Ad-Aware is getting a lot of malware files from some directory with Cookies\Low or something similar in the name. I haven't downloaded any bad programs or gone on any dangerous sites with this new computer so I don't know what's going on. I was wondering if anyone experienced could just give my computer a lookover from a log or something just to see if there's anything suspicious or wrong with my computer. Please help.

    Hi John

    If its Cookies that Ad-Aware is listing they are harmless and not malware or an issue, sadly many malware scanners list them as issues when they are not, this only serves to panic users ( scaremongering I feel ) and make their product seem like its finding more than it is!!!

    are both fine...

    Vista will have different folders and locations to that of XP as its part of the restricted security locations.

    What are the errors? need them word for word sadly.

    Slowness in Vista can be down to many things.. main one is using incompatible security applications or too many of them, especially resident scanning ones, so what security applications do you have installed?

    I'm not sure because I don't remember and there aren't as many on this scan but here is an Ad-Aware log?? I hope everything's alright.

    There were no problems showing in your log from Ad-Aware. If you are still have problems with Vista being slow, I suggest you post in the software forum and address the questions Halo asked you.
