Ok yall I am having trouble with my pages scrolling right.

    RAM - 1gig
    Windows XP5.1 (Build 2600) SP2
CPU - AMD Athlon XP 200+
    CPU speed - 1667.9 MHz
Graphics card is S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR |NetMeeting driver| RDPDD
    Hard Drive 80 gig

Not sure what else you need but let me know and I will do my best to get it for you.

Now my pages seem to be having trouble scrolling smoothly and I am also having trouble with intermittin freeze ups for a few mins then everything releases and will work fine until the next one. I have tried shutting down different things to see if it helps but it still seems to do it. I have shut down all extra things (IM's, open pages ect.) and it still seems to do it. Even with just 1 program working. Or with just my FireWall running. Now I did just up grade my RAM do I need to upgrade my video card too, I asked a guy here and he said to try to update drivers and that my video card was more than enough to run what I do but not sure where to go for that, I do not do alot of graphic games only card games at a place called Canasis, I do some page work on our leagues main page but that is still not big graphics I use PSP a good bit and that is about it. When I try to scroll our main page it gets real jumpy and will not hardly scroll at all, this is the page i am talking about here http://www.myleague.com/hot_league/

    Any ideas or sugestions Plzzzzzzz

if its looks like a ripple when you scroll you might not have your video card drivers installed or they are corrupted or something like that

    i would say drivers

    Try this.

    Go here: http://www.microsoft.com

Now,s croll down, find Microsoft Update on the left side, click it. Once you're there install anything it asks you to, then you should get a screen that asks for two options Express and Custom, Select Custom.

Now when it finishes you'll see on the left it will say 'Select by Type' under that select 'Hardware, Optional' Now if you see any updates available that deal with you're Video Card, install it.

When and if it asks you to reboot, do so, then see how it goes. IF you don't however see an option for you're Video Card on the update, please post that, I'll work on finding the proper drivers.

Ok I went to the site you sugested and did all downloads. And its still is not scrolling smoothly. There was an udate for my video card and I did download and install it along with 2 other things it wanted to update but it is still skipping so I will stand by to see if you have any other things I can try.

Ok well, lets try something else.

    Download this diagnostic tool:
    EVEREST

Install it, when it's finished, run it, when it's open at the top on the toolbar there will be an 'Report' action, click it, you will then be presented with a report wizard, select next, at the next page select custom. In this page un-check every box EXCEPT display, next page 3 options, select plain text.

Now, when it's finished it will open it's own type of wordpad, what I need is for you to copy sections 'Windows Video' down to 'GPU', now open up wordpad or notepad whichever you prefer paste that info into that page and Save it as report, attach that with you're next post.

This will help me better know what type of GPU it is so I can obtain the right drivers.

Sorry my bad.....:(. Thought that 'test my hardware' would do just that....test my hardware. At least we have your video card result.

Did you try running MemTest? Any errors?

Another thing to rule out is your browser. What one are you using? Have you tried going to the link in the first post using another browser?

So it only happens on the net? Not with word or other software programs?

Try this>found it at another site>

"In IE, go to Tools > Options > Advanced and untick "Smooth Scrolling", then close IE and open it again. Also top the stupid "slide open" of combo boxes."

Edit/ If you get the video driver ruled out have a look at Microsoft. It mentions scrolling towards the bottom of the page.

    Ok,

Well now that we know that info we can install the proper drivers. Now before we install these drivers we need to rid of the old ones.

First download these drivers, DO NOT Install these yet.
    http://www.viaarena.com/Driver/S3G_ProSavageDDR_winxp_v139433.zip

Now navigate to Control Panel, click 'System', select 'Hardware' tab, there select 'Device Manager' now expand 'Display Adapters' right click on the video card select 'Properties' now click the 'Driver' tab at the bottom select 'Uninstall' it will say warning and all that jazz but continue anyway, after that check Add/Remove Programs for anymore remnants of the drivers.

If it prompts you to reboot do so, once it boots, let windows recognize the Hardware, cancel and ignore ANY attempts of windows search for the drivers, now once that is out of the way unzip the Driver setup, run it, when it finishes reboot if prompted.

It should be good to go after that, if not, let us know.

    Good Luck!
