Could this be potentially bad?

When I switched from a PCCHIPS to an Asus motherboard (My bro did the installing), I noticed that he left about 3 holes where there is suppose to be screws mounting/grounding the motherboard. It's been working for months now, but I'm just wondering if I should tear it all apart and do it properly. If so, where could I get the screws (And whatever that material is between the screw/mobo)

    Thanks, Kensi

In the classic words of an ancient wise man, if it ain't broke, don't fix it !! If it is working now with no problems, then there is no need to bother with it.

as long as the motherboard isn't moving (ie, the screws that are installed are tight), then its no biggie. i think i only have half the screws installed in my motherboard.

Make sure you have at least one screw/mounting in the centre of your motherboard. Excess force, seating cards, RAM, etc.,can damage a motherboard if it flexes/breaks in the middle. One screw at each edge is a good idea also. So 5 at minimum IMHO. Bazza

So what's that Washer/Disk that is between the screw and mobo? Is that important? (Some of the screws don't have it I noticed)

That is some of the best advice you can get when mounting a mobo.

You don't always need the washer if you are puting the standoff in a place were it won't short or come in contact with the traces on the board. I recomend using them when you can easily get them in place but they can be very hard to get in place and if you struggle to get them in place and slide the mobo around on the stand offs that can cause a short.
