Counter Spy Download

Am I being paranoid or is is possible for malware to try to keep "cleaner" programs from being downloaded? I'm on my 4th attempt. The DL seems to go just fine, then once it gets to a certain point (in this case 4.21 MB/13.2 MB or 32%) it just stops. Time left, Transfer rate ll stay the same.

This is what I think is my first major infection so the cleaning process is all new territory.

 

no, i dont think it has anything to do with that. When i was downloading it the exact same thing happened, i just left it for like 10 mins and the downloaded continued just as tho nothing happened. Be patient is my solution

 

It's been more than 10 minutes already. I'll go have a read and a nap and see if it starts again later. That's the last thing on my list before I can start the cleanup process. I'm pretty sure I've got a trojan problem. Do you think I absolutely have to have Counter Spy to continue?

That's where I am now. Just finished the offline portion and I needed CS for step 5C. I finally got one download to finish but several just hung there for no apparent reason. Of course I am in China on the wrong side of a submarine cable break and behind the mother of all firewalls so nothing should surprise me anymore.

 

Then you should have seen where it says to run AVG Anti Spyware if you can't get Counter Spy to work.Don't let this hang you up, just get AVG and carry on with the rest of the process.
