I had this idea quite a while ago. Why don't game/software companies get together with alcohol-soft or padus, etc and develop a disk image that when you burn it, it creates an images taylored to that computer? I realise someone, somewhere will be able to crack it, but so many people don't even know what to do with an .ISO, much less figure out a way past a complex protection scheme like I'm suggesting.

I'm really wondering why software companies haven't thought of this? I've lurked around the alcohol forums and they don't seem pro-piracy at all, so I don't see why they wouldn't go along with it.

I think compagny now don't care much about protections i see release game now with no protections they now it will get crack just in few hours the one still having problem with is starforce 3 and even that one will be no problem in a few days when deamon-tools v4.03 will be out with a ide jammer...

    Is just my $0.02 cents. :) ;)

Maybe I'm missing the point of this post, but don't M$ already do this with the 25 character CD key and the 42 digit Confirmation ID, when you install XP?
