counterstrike freezing

Hi, i have a brand new computer with a pretty good video card and counterstrike freezes every so often for about 20 secs. Anyone know how I could fix it?

 

what do u mean it freezes? like all of a sudden every stops and then after you continue.. cuz if that the case it probably the server. When it freezes press the TAB button to see if only you with the 400+ ping.. if it is then we know thats it your computer but if everyones ping is 300-500 or higher then you know for a fact that it is the server.

IF it is only you then maybe it you have other programs running?

Posting specs of your computer would help also.

 

no, every game freezes, so it's gotta be a driver issue... it's got an amd 4200 dual core, 2 gigs ram, 7600 gt superclocked, 200 gig HDD, windows xp pro
