1 Which produces the faster WUs, GPU or CPU clients?
2 Can a GPU and CPU operate with different WUs at the same time on a single machine?
3 Would an nVidia TNT2 graphics card(32MB) be a good starter card to work with?

On normal machines, the GPU cranks them out faster.
If you run the mutiple core CPU client, I don't know if the CPU keeps up on a points per day basis or not. Augie should weigh in on this.

Yes. Would need to install both types of clients so they pick up new WUs as they finish the work each is assigned.

No, you need a discrete graphics card of at least the 8 series and above for NVidia cards and the X2xxx (R6xx) series and above for ATI cards.
GPU clients don't use the chipset (onboard) video.

The TNT2 is an AGP plug-in card, not onboard.

Sorry, thought it was on-board but it is still too old.
Need a card with a processor on it not just memory.

I'm too old too, but I still work, although my memory is fading.;):-D

    Just couldn't resist myself.
Will continue with CPU until I get an appropriate card.

Those are the ones that would suffice?

Here's the list of Cuda enable cards which are nVidia video cards:

and a list of ATI video cards:

All these gpu's work with the newer GPU2 client using the PCIe slot on newer type mother boards.

This is what I've researched and found and this information may now be dated.

Also even though I haven't used an ATI video card to fold it seems to me from reading and running nVidia cards to fold that the nVidia seems to have less issues w/folding,just my 2¢

Like you said, normally GPU wins unless you're running an i7 or better. I'm seeing folks get 10K points/day just for CPU SMP.
