I have a problem and cant seem to pinpoint it. During high cpu activity ( ripping disks, burning music) there is a high pitched whine coming from my speakers. Ive looked around the net/forums and upgraded/downgraded my sound-drivers but I get the same thing... help... this is really annoying.

The whining could be caused by the cd burner,if you have audio cable from your cdrom to your soundcard plugged in try unplugging it. :)

you don't even have to unplug it, if you go to volume control, mute "CD Audio". You'll still be able to play cd's as most players nowadays send audio from cd's through directx stuff or their own audio engine (ie, Winamp and Windows Media). ;)

Also...make sure that your audio cable is not running right along side the cpu, or any fans etc.!! Your audio cable can pick up interference from other electronic devices, and the harder a device runs (for example, your cpu), the more interference the audio cable is going to pick up!!

I know it is hard to say...make sure there are no cables running by something in the case...but...moving it just a tiny bit can make a huge differece!!!
