    OP: Win XP pro w/SP

Unit locked shutting down, requiring cold boot.
When system came back up, screen came on about selecting F keys to restart is various modes. Noticed one line stated CPU battery low.
I restarted in default mode, saw clock and date incorrect. Tried unsuccessfully to reset time manually.
Maj G. suggested MS site to reset thru internet. Also suggested might be CPU battery.

Currently everything is chronically slow, when cuing programs or files. They can take most of a minute, sometimes longer to load, or have to be re-cued.

Could this last problem be caused by the battery, or should I go back over to software and see if a solution can be found in that forum?
    Thanks,
    Sarge

Replace the coin cell battery first. This will either fix the problem or tell you that there is a second hardware or software problem too.
