I've got an older system that's turning into a real frankenstien... The mobo is a few years old and has a 775 CPU socket and 800fsb - will any 775 processor work? It's currently got a Pentium4 and I want another core. The manual says it'll take a PentiumD (which was top-o-the-line at the time of production), but that seems like a bit of a waste - will it take a Core2Duo? Quad-Core? I know I'll only get the 800fsb regardless but will it work?

The board will take any 775 CPU but it wll not give the performance that is associated with the CPU, you would be better getting a board with a higher chipset.
