I need to replace my CPU fan on my HP envy 14.5 inch laptop, my laptop has the Intel i5, 2410M processor in it. How can I tell which fan will work for my laptop?

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Get the exact model # from the bottom of the PC and do a search for it on eBay. You should be able to find a new one on there for far less than trying to get it directly from HP.

    Hope this helps. :)

okay thanks, it helped, I was just hoping I'd be able to choose from a few CPU fans instead of getting the stock CPU fan

It's a good idea to check the fan header as the fan plug can come out, I prefer to test the old fan also, a simple way is to put two pins in the fan connector and hold it on a 9V battery.

Nothing worse than rebuilding a laptop only to find out there's deeper problem.
