So I've bought the new AMD +6400 Black Edition and was pretty damn pleased with myself to be honest. Stuck it in my Shuttle XPC SK22GV2 with some Arctic Silver Thermal etc.

My CPU is running at 45c to 50c when it's idle. Full load somewhere between 55c to 60c. I'm really concerned it's running too hot.

Is there anything I could do to help keep the temp down? My system's usually between 29c to 32c in a cool, ventilated place, with the fan running at approx 2900rpm (which is higher and therefore louder than I'd like it really like it).

Has anyone else had experience with this CPU?

I'd be really grateful for any advice,

    Cheers guys,

    Joss

    Using a Stock cooler?

Doesnt sound too unreasonable at all, provided you arent using Cool and Quiet.

I'm using Shuttle's ICE system. Just modded the back of it so that the hex mesh is now completely open (with just a finger guard to cover the heatsink).

I've only got a small amount of space in the case to play with; there's two airvents on either side of the case which I guess could be modded to allow a couple of fans to drag in cold air.

Can anyone recommend some good, small case fans?
