CPu issue

I have this computer paired with a 560 ti. Much better than the 220 gt. Well I am sitting here just trying to solve a problem. I have been having gaming issues lately and for the world of me I can not figure out whats wrong. For the first time ever I decided to run 3d mark. I ran it and the first gpu test was an average of 40 fps with a low of 26, while the second one average more between 50 with a low of 32. Then I got to the cpu test. 0 fps and computer freeze. It took 2 minutes for the computer to register and abort the test. In that time it only saw 4 frames. I've been trying to work out a overclock for my card (current settings 1037 voltage, core 951, shader 1902, memory 2004 and fan speed 52 %) but everytime i stay in game for some time my monitor losses focus and the game while it exist in my taskbar, shows nothing in the game. The game exist and still runs but with no graphics and its been scratching my head. Here looking for theories, maybe i just have a bad overclock. Stock settings run great but the geek inside of me cries. I try running the test at 1920 x 1080p, 2 sample aa, anisotropic level 2, and everything else to default.

The 3DMark XX series always have a 2-3 FPS for the "better PCs" just so there is always this perceived challenge......otherwise why keep pushing forward? Maybe you are seeing something similar?

Always good to try a different type of benchmark to assess a "bottleneck", SuperPi is a good start, wPrime, etc. Isolate either potential GPU or CPU degradation.

 

How do you use super pi. I mean I tried using it but I dont know how to use the information to asses a bottleneck. and wprime for some reason does not work for me, which makes me think its not made for 64 bit systems or something.
