cpu maxed Task manager say exporer.exe is at 59-100%

Ok so here is the deal I get on my pc three days ago and I use it everyday I have run tune up utilities 2006, pc bug Dr, and registy mechanic all come up clean as well as avg antivirus latest version and up date I have udated everything I can think of and still my pc is slow as hell for some reason the task manager say all my ram is being used by exporer.exe at now 28 -100 percent even when nothing is running I have a dell dimension 4550, 2.5 ghz/p4 with two Hd one 60 one 40 only have full each my ram is maxed at one gig and I am running xp with sp2. have not installed anything new since this began.
