CPU&Motherboard Suggestions

I'm going to build a new PC and was looking for some suggestions on the CPU and Motherboard. I have built 6or7 but it's been awhile and there are so many different cpu's ???:confused. I use my PC's for recording ,alot of photo's. I record speeches and do alot of copying the speeches.So alot of CDand DVD work. Some gameing.
I buy from Tiger Direct and was going to get there best seller,But then thought I would go to the PRO'S:major

Intel is the chipset to buy, the new quad core is the bomb. There is a 6 and a 9 series, 9 being brand new and more expensive. I prefer true Intel boards, if you go with the quad core, most boards will work, but stick with brand name if not Intel. Skimping 50 bucks on a motherboard is a bad idea, it operates everything. X48 is the new board, while the x35 will work for you and save some money. Since the x48 board was announced right behind the x38, I am concerned its inferior, word is true 1600 front side bus is the difference on this Asus board:

BIG power supply so your prepared, at least 500 watts. 2 gigs of ram, Vista get 3. Nvidia rules graphic card market currently, I have a 8800 GT OC from BFG. Killer card, but about 400 bucks. For gaming, this is the best bang for the buck imho.
