Cpu shown at incorrect speed

Hi Guys abd gals.

I have a albatron km400a pro-1394 m/b with a XP 1700+ which has run without a hitch for over 18mnths. Gave the m/b a speed up with a used xp3200 Barton fsb400 and matching heatsink and fan. On boot up the cpu is shown as a xp1900+ ??? I went into the bios and changed the speed to 200 from the shown 166, the m/b re sets itself and reverts back to the old speed again??

Any ideas, no mention of problems on the albatron site and they do not respond to emails. I have been running the latest bios 1.05 The fsb is linked with the agp and pci speed.

Ummm isnt that a good thing that its running faster? lol Try removing the motherboard (CMOS) battery for a few minutes then stick it back in. That should fix it

Sorry getting a little frustrated:
I forgot to mention I had shorted out the comos Jumper with the power lead out. Also found and cpu clock jumpers and set them to 200mhz and still no go other than the computer resets after 30 seconds.

I will take all the pci boards off and the cpu out and the psu plug off and rebuild it and see if it is a bad socket pulug or some other suspect connection.

A Up Date.

All is well with the cpu and ram both shown correct 512mb 400 and 3200 cpu.
Just have to get the hdd's and dvd drives back ...........lol. The computer has been looking looking for over 10 mins so far
