i recently built a new computer with an ASUS A8V Delux motherboard and an AMD64 3500+ pin 939 processor. when i look at the properties of 'my computer' it says its a 2.2GHz chip which i knew, but whenever i run any programs it shows that its only running at around 1 GHz. Whats the deal? I'm assuming its a BIOS prob, but im not to well versed in understanding all of whats going on in the BIOS. I have updated the BIOS to its recent update.

Try updating everything you can think of. Ex: Motherboard and such. See what happens.

What is your FSB (or, well, the quivalent) speed running at? IIRC, a number of ASUS boards have jumper settings to enable the higher FSB speeds. Since the core clock speed is generally a multiple of the FSB, a slower FSB will result in a slower CPU.

What programs are saying your CPU is 1 GHz?
