IBM ThinkPad T30 - P4m 1.60ghz - 512mb DDR (2x256mb) - WinXP Pro - The problem is that Windows reports that the CPU is running at 1.20ghz. CPUZ also reports 1.20ghz. CrystalCPUID reports 1.60ghz. And yet a 3rd app (called CPUspeed I think) reports 1.40ghz. What's up???? The CPUZ reading will jump up to 1.60ghz every so often for a second, then back down to 1.20ghz. I changed the BIOS power settings and turned off any power saving settings as they can sometimes cut CPU speed to save battery life. After doing that, Windows reports the CPU as only 898mhz!!! But the other apps reported the same numbers as above..... Strange.....

PS- I rounded up... CPUZ's actual reading is 1196.7, Crystal is 1594.84, etc....

I don't use a laptop, but the following may help you in your situation:

Thanx man. I'll look into this and see what happens. Just kinda curious as to why I'm getting up to 4 different readings on the CPU speed. If they all reported the same speed, even if it isn't 1.60, that'd be one thing; but all the different readings have me a bit confused  .....
