CPU Temprature On XP 3200

    Hi,
    I have a AMD Athlon "Barton Core" XP3200+ . I have an avarage tempratue of 65'C , after playing some games , my temprature can reach more than 70'.Is this normal?

    no, not normal. Is your heatsink/fan AMD approved or better? is it working/plugged into the the right place (cpufan - not sysfan or auxfan etc.). Did you use any thermal paste?

    i used thermal paste, and a retail fan and heatsink. what should the temp be. I know the critical temp is 85!

    Wow, 70C...
    Maybe you should put some more thermal paste on that.
    Where are you checking your Temperature?

    clean off the old paste w/alchohol pads and apply only a paper thing layer of some artic silver 5.
