CPU usage high?

hey guys, im having trouble with my dell inspiron mini netbook, it was running fine but now the physical memory usage is really high. as soon as i start it up its at nearly 700mb where it used to be just over 300? i ran it in safe mode & it went back to normal after a few minutes. any ideas whats causing the problem?
i'm running win7 home premium sp1, 1GB ram, & use comodo internet security

ok it's dropped a bit but still around 600MB :/. i know i put cpu usage in the topic but its just the physical memory i'm concerned about

The vast majority of CPU and memory drain problems are caused by programs that are set to run at startup and then (while running stealthy in the background) drain the computer's resources. Both CodeStuff Starter 5.6 and Microsoft Autoruns 11.1 should help you out in "lightening the load." Also System Explorer 3.6 should give you a pretty good idea as to which programs are using up all of the CPU and memory in the first place. I'd download and install that last one first...
