CPU Usage %

Hi, :wave

Id'e like to know, When i go to yahoo games n load the java applet platform for the games for example chess or something. How come it shoots my Cpu Usage through the roof? Im one a laptop so i can hear it n if it gets to hot i know it will cause an abnormal shutdown.

Same thing with when i watch DivX movies or Google Vid. Iv'e noticed these things run my CPU Usage hard.

Is there a solution?

My system is XP Sp2 n I use firefox. I know FF runs harder than IE but when i try to use IE on yahoo games it says i need java scripting enabled n flash player 7 Im pretty sure my Flash player is up to date.

Flash Player is on version 9, so I think you're not up to date Certain things will always cause CPU usage to spike, and anything multimedia related will do it. It also sounds as though you're using an older PC. Slower (older) PC's with low amounts of RAM will have CPU usage spikes often, simply because they're working harder due to lack of available "horsepower". Post some system hardware specs, and we'll see if that is indeed the cause of your usage issue(s).

 

Yea My HP laptop is from like 03-04 U think just some new n more ram with a higher frequency should do it or do i need to go balls to the wall n get a new cpu n video card etc..?

Flashplayer & Java on IE

I use Firefox anyways but i wanna try something.

I can't seem to load the player for songs on IE n when i go to YahooGames such as Chess on IE it says i need to have Java scripting enabled n Flashplayer 7, I have 9!!!! Everything works fine on FireFox i just wanna get it workin on IE.
