cracking up

hello everyone, my comp wont take any new hardware,webcams printers ect,it did take a camera,i know my usbs are ok as it took a memory stick and the broadband runs on any off them,when i put the install disc in it reads it saves it,then when i stick the cam or printer in it tells me theres no drivers in,but i can see the drivers.the add new hardwre wizard goes nuts too and just flashs on and off repeatedly,are ther some important windows files missing?my system is a hp pavilion a310.uk on xp.
i have followed all the correct steps for the installations,it just usually says there was a problem and your hareware mighy not work,and it doesnt.i pixxed off,i need my cam and printer,please help you kind people and have a good season,yours jason

 

dude offer help or dont post, that has gotta be the most useless post ive ever seen. BTW, Dells and such arent actually as bad as people like u make them out to be.

Halo actually just reminded me how to do this:

First of all, did you download the drivers or are you trying to get them off of a cd? Either way, right click My Computer, go to Properties, Hardware, Device Manager. Find your device (it should have a yellow exclamation mark by it) click Update Driver,check the circle for "Install from a specific location," check the box for "Include this location in the search" and go find the driver wherever it is saved/located, be it a CD or your hard drive. After that its pretty straightforward. Hope this helps though im not entirely sure that this is the problem...

 

hey dude,thanks for the reply,its 5am over here and iv been working for 18 hours,sorry if i cant see and posted in wrong place,i have done all that you suggested before i posted,both drivers from wem and discs to comp,the device manager doesnt list them thouth there apparently installed,i moved them to the right location and it tells me there installed again,when i go to run the cam no video available faulty installation,same with printer,try not to do useless posts again,yours hardworking paramedic at drucken bullet ridden drunken belfast,you might see some edited news on tv over there happy xmas,i had two stabbings a dead child and bricks thrown at me,you talk about useless post get a life,and keep your useless advice to yourself

 

i dunno if u saw the post that a guy posted before me (it got deleted by a mod) but that first statement wasnt directed at you if you thought it was. This dude just posted something saying "thats why i build my own computers, HP and Dells suck dont buy one" and offered no helpful advice.
