CRAP! What did I do?

    I am in the process of trying to get rid of the about:blank issue. Last night, after I had run CWShredder, about:Buster and CCleaner, I clicked on the icon to "Download Microsoft Windows Update" (as recommended here).

    When it finished and my system was rebooted, the monitor would only display 8 colors (and was very distorted). I reloaded the driver for my monitor and attempted to reset the color & display...the screen when fuzzy and the monitor when into powersaver mode.

    Now I can't even boot without this happening.

    What the heck did I do?
