Crappy laptop battery

Hello,

I have a DELL Inspiron 8100 that i purchased in April of 2002. The original battery that came with it was fine, lasted 2.5 hours or so.. but as time went on, naturally it needed to be replaced. I bought a battery for it in early 2004 and the battery lasted until early this year. Then I bought another battery in April or May and its beat already.. lasts about 25 min or so. I don't know much about batteries, but all the green lights light up when i press the little button. Is there any explination why this is happening? Could it be the laptop killing it, or do i just have bad luck with batteries?

Ya... My dad has a Compaq Armada with a Pentium II processor... Old as hell and still uses the original battery and it still works fine.

 

well i have bought the last 2 batteries refurbished. They're definitely cheaper than new origional dell batteries. The charger is the same one that i've had all along, but i'll check the prices of some new chargers.

refurb batteries?The only way to refurb a battery would be to remove the plastic coating get brand new insides and re use the plastic coating Which would be silly,the batteries you are buying are quite simply already half cooked,even though they are rechargeable,they degrade from the first time they are used,look into a cheap aftermarket batt thats brand new.
