Crashing and trouble logging in...

My problem started a few weeks ago when the IE started loading very slowly. A few days ago, I came into the room where it was on and it seemed to be humming MUCH louder than usual. It wouldn't turn off at the CPU, so I pulled the plug. All of that day, and into the next, I was trying to reboot. Sometimes I would get BSofD and other times other messages including:

File: \windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe Info: Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing or corrupt.

    File: \windows\system32\hal.dll
Windows failed to start because the HAL is missing or corrupt.

I would be able to finally boot, start to search these errors, and then would crash and start over. In one of those tries, I found your Malware Removal Guide:
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

and followed all instructions. Attached are my log files. Any ideas? Let me know what else I should check or do.

    Thanks!

    Greetings, bandcclare.

If you suspect that your issues are caused by malware, you should go through the Malware Forum's Read & Run Me First thread, perform all of the suggested steps, and attach the requested logs to a new thread in that forum.

Once the gurus there give you the all clear, then we'll get you sorted with any remaining problems.

    Good luck!

As noted below, I've gone through the guide and the final instruction was to post my logs -- I hope this was the correct procedure. I also thought I had posted the additional ones, but don't see them. I'll try again.

I apologise. Your thread got completely overlooked. I was just flipping through old posts now and came across it. It's unusual for this to happen and again, I'm sorry.
Are you still with me? Would you like to begin a fix?
