I have searched this board and have not been able to find any info on this, so any help will be greatly appreciated! Here goes...
My objective is to create a single icon on several computers, that when the user double-clicks this icon, two applications are launched.

On these several computers, I am going to
    1. setup a dial-up connection to connect to a VPN concentrator or a multi-tech RAS server.
    2. install an application that will utilize this new dial-up connection.

    What I envision happening is
    1.user double-clicks the icon
2.the dialer automatically dials and connects to the concentrator or server
3.once connected, the the application launches.

The reason that I want to do this is to eliminate the steps involved to establish this connection for the end users. I am only vaguely familiar with batch files, but I just thought that one could be created to do this, right? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

you would honestly be better off using WMI scripting. You can launch an application (your dialup) and then detect when you have a connection and then launch the app. I know you can do it with WMI, but I am just starting with WMI myself so I can't be of much more help than that at this time.
