Creating A Signature in Outlook Express

Hi!

I've been trying to create a signature (using an image) for Outlook Express. I've tried, and none of my pictures in "My Pictures" folder will successfully appear as a siggy.

JPEG and GIF show when I click on Properties on each of my images in the folder. The Outlook Express says that there's an error, it must be HTML (I think it said?) when I try to insert a newly created signature.

I'm not familiar with the technical aspect, is there something that I can do to fix this?

In Outlook Express the signature file must be either a text file or an HTML file. You can't just have a .GIF or JPG file

You can do it with Irfanview I think. I have a how-to on it somewhere, still looking.

Stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. It is the sort of file that Internet Explorer uses to display web pages - in other words it allows you to mix text and graphics.

My first try at creating an image signature didn't work out, so it looks like I've got some learning to do. I'll keep working at it, lol.
