Creating a Win2k iso CD

Hello

A friend gave me an old PC of hers yesterday. It has Win2k on it, but she can't find the CD's (probably packed away).

I would like to keep the OS, but with the option to reinstall if needed. I made a Win2k installation CD. Now I just need to know how to find the correct Product Key to use.

I used 3 different key finders which all gave the same product key, but someone told me that isn't the key needed for an installation.

Does someone know how to do this correctly? I am scared that I will try to do a clean install at some point and lose the OS.

P.S. Everything in my sig is the same except for the OS, of course.

My Advice Here: Download, Install and then Run Belarc Advisor
It will likely give you the correct (legitimate, anyways) Product Numbers as well as the KEYS!

Examples (I just ran Balarc):
Microsoft - Windows XP Home Edition
12345-OEM-678910-111213
(Key: XXXX1-2XXXX-XX3XX-X4XXX5-6X7ZZ)

Microsoft - Office Professional Edition 2003
12345-678910-11121314-151617
(Key: X123X-XX45-XXX6-X78J9-10X11)

Of course the numbers and letters above are edited 'fakes' - but I'm sure you get the general idea!
