    Hello All,

I just got a fantastic job as an IT manager at a small Advertising company, which is great. However... I'm used to larger companies where I have a systems admin around. Not here.

    (on to the question)

Does anyone have any experience with creating those legal disclaimers in Exchange 2003? I found the Visual Basic solution in Microsofts tech net, but I have no experience scripting. It may be time to start!

Has anyone out there tried the VB script?

Also, I noticed a bunch of products that will do it for you, I'm wondering if they're worth a shot.

    Thanks, any suggestions are appreciated!

CONGRATS on the New Job :)

I use exchange based email but have no experience with how to setup VB, maybe someone else does and this will serve as a bump ;)

but I've always looked for Outlook help and info here and this page may have something for you to easily setup a Disclaimer Signature for email http://www.slipstick.com/addins/content_control.htm

thanks Halo, the job is going quite well!

It was a little intimidating being the person in charge with zero training from the previous manager. Ex: I had to call a vendor to ask where our VPN was housed. He took pity on me and sent me a network map (to my own network!) HA!

Things are starting to smoothing out though.

Thanks for the link, I think I may go with a third party or employ my ex-programmer husband for the VB script.

BTW Im sure you will do fine heather, relly on the vendors, they are there to help. Also documention as a sysadmin is key. Everything you setup document so any future admins, or even if your ill or what not and someone needs to access/change work on something can do it with out the problems your facing. At my current employer we have a 3 ring binder for each major server that contains setup info, package versions and product keys, hardware particulars, restore/backup info. This makes life much easier. Good Luck and injoy your new job.

    thanks for the encouraging words.

The guy before me documented everything but a little too much fluff and not enough important stuff. Like a network map for instance!

It sure is nice to hear from people in similar situations. It's strange that I'm the only one who knows what I do. And they always seem surprised when I fix something. Maybe it's the girl thing, i dunno.

heh. I do enjoy surprising 'em.

    neway, thanks!
