My brother gave me an image file on usb.I transfer it in my comp, and for curiosity I extract it.But (to be more interesting),I left my comp for 15 minutes, and when I come back my comp was shut down.I ask my son what happen,he said power surge.OK, I restart my comp, and AAAAAAAAA:eek:eek my image file was gone.I ask him again what happened, and he said that he delete the image file, and then in panic he shut down the comp.:cry:cry So everything that was left on the comp was the extract files and folders from the image file.
Q:how to make bootable CD from what was extract from the image file.

    PLEASE, HELP ME!!!!

    Hi Goran

Do you really mean bootable or do you just mean that you want the CD to autorun?

For any device to boot the pc it must contain a (simple) operating system, in addition to your own files. There are several about besides Windows. This is really just an extension of the old format command for floppys "format /s" to make a system floppy.
Did the extracted files contain anything like this?

If you simply want to make the CD autorun under Windows, using the extracted files. Use notepad to write a .ini file and place it on the root of the cd drive.

the only line you must have in the ini file is

    open=myprogram.exe

You can try an ISO creating tool to take the extracted files and turn 'em back into an image. Then using your favorite burning software, burn the ISO to a CD as an image. Maybe use a CDRW first if you have one, just so you don't waste a disc in case it doesn't work.... here's some free ISO utilities:
    ISORecorder: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm (for WindowsXP only!)
    Folder2ISO: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/folder2iso.cfm
ISORecorder integrates into the windows shell so you just right-click on the folder you want to convert to an ISO image, and click the appropriate selection and then burn the resulting ISO file as an image....

Oh- I misunderstood. There are some CD burning apps that allow you incorporate a bootable image (like from a DOS boot floppy for example) into the ISO as you burn it, making it bootable. I know NTI's CD Maker 2000 will do this....

    Surely the question should be
Do you have the necessary files in the ones you saved?

Windows PE is designed to bebuilt up on an already working system, the files include

    oscdimg.exe

This is a command line tool for creating ISO image files for CD and DVD.

    oscdimg -n -bc:\winpe_86\etfsboot.com c:\winpe_x86\iso
    c:\winpe_x86\winpe_x86.iso

Microsoft say that you need at least 1.1G free disk space to create the image.

You can also install the ISO image to a bootable USB stick

    Insert the stick
    at a command prompt typein

    diskpart

bootsect /nt60 e: /force (where e is the USB drive letter)

    xcopy /cheryc: \winpe_x86\iso\*.* e:\

Win PE is designed for Vista installation but comes with some very useful tools.

Microsoft have made these tools also available for download, and placed them in the public domain.

If you are trying to make a bootable service cd with only the tools, but not the installation files this is a legitimate and worthwhile project.
