    Hi all.
After much effort and with assistance from forum members, I finally got my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi card working again.
The problem is I uninstalled all Creative software including the Audio Console.
The sound is pretty rubbish without it and search as I may I cannot locate it online.
It is similar to the one that appears on Major Geeks in the link below but that one states that it doesn't detect a compatible product.
The card is the standard X-Fi, nothing else, such as Extreme or Elite.
Any one know where it can be found? It's for Windows 7.
Or is there something better that will work with my card?
    Ta.

    Thanks for the reply.
My system is saying I already have that app. I do have something but it's nowhere near as good as i had.
As i stated, I had the Console on my 7 OS so yes it's supported.
It's out there somewhere but it's a darn elusive beast.
This is what the console looked like.

Missing driver? Have you looked in the Device Manager to see if there are any missing drivers?

You can try Iobit Driver Booster. It is good at identifying and installing missing and unknown drivers. It has a free version that will update drivers for free just be careful during the install process and uncheck anything extra it wants to install.

Have you tried installing the drivers listed from the DELL Dimension 9200 downloads. It says they are for Visa under the Operating system selection but those are probably the last drivers for that sound card and should be compatible with W7.

Evil, it's not a driver, it's an app. The card is up and running but the app made it so much better.
plodr, I have that installed. That is called the Audio Control Panel, I am after the Audio Console.
    Cheers

Just because the GUI launches does not mean it is not missing a driver.

Yes, but what I'm saying is that the APP I'm after isn't a driver.
It's an app that's an extra to enhance sound, ie, preset 'rooms', user graphic equalizer etc,
I have also ran Iobit driver boost you suggested and it says my sound card drivers are up to date.

DELL Dimension 9200 downloads. Try installing the software again. You shouldn't need to uninstall anything just run the installer for the X-Fi. It should replace anything that is missing.

Well, that's stating that my OS (Windows 7) isn't supported please UPGRADE to windows Vista or later version?
Am I assuming wrong that the Audio Console is separate to any drivers?

They probably dropped support for W7.

    No.
Any additional software is usually seperate from the drivers.

Don't give up and contact Creative.
I have a MAYA44 Audio Interface card. The support CD has drivers for Windows 2000 & XP. The manufacturer has released drivers for all Windows version - including Windows 10 64-bit.

He doesn't need a driver. The blurb says
    He needs a software package.

Sorry my lizard brain is stuck it being on a driver issue... :(

@sobeit - Was this PC upgraded from XP or Visa? Could that be the issue? The Creative suite not being compatible with W7 after the upgrade?

This page does not list any software for a W7 Dimension 9200. On the Dimension 9200 Wiki it says for W7 "This model and Operating System is not supported by Dell" but it does give information on upgrading to Windows 7 from the Microsoft website. Under that is a list of software but it does not include any Creative software. That is unless Creative is the same as Sigmatel.

    I'm not sure if you have 32 or 64bit. Inspiron 9200 - Windows 7 32 Bit Wiki

Ahaaa, evil, you've got it, no drivers needed!! :)
I upgraded using an ISO to a more recent version of Windows 7, from Windows 7 in an attempt to sort out any corrupt files that may have been causing my sound issue.
Eventually I ended up uninstalling the driver that kept reinstalling automatically and installed a different driver and all was well.
When I had the Creative Audio Console installed and working well with my card the OS was Windows 7, so no compatibility issues.
This was, originally a Vista machine as it has a Vista sticker on it. (I bought it second hand).
It is a 64 bit OS.
I've sent a request to Creative. No idea what they are like regarding help with end of life products, we shall see.

    Ok, form a queue.
    Who wants first swing?
I have found the much elusive Audio Console.
Where, how, I hear you all cry.
Why on the original Sound Blaster installation disk of course.
Which disk, the one you'd already searched several times?
Why yes sir, that very same disk!
Let me explain. I had two boxes to tick when choosing what to install, one was X-Fi Sound Blaster (which I assumed was just the drivers) the other to do with utilities.
So I unticked the X-Fi not wanting to install a second driver and going through the same rigmarole as before.
In desperation I looked again and thought to hell with it I'll install everything.
Then came a second page with all the items that would be installed, including the Console.
I unticked the driver and installed the rest.
There, in all it's glory, was the Console.
I thank you all and I bet you can't wait for my return.
