    Howdy...

Google turned up nothing on this, and it seems the Creative Forums are not well staffed, so I hope to get some answers here. This is the original post from the Creative Forums:

    "Greetings...

I recently updated my XFi Xtreme Music drivers and now notice a new service active in my WindowsXP SP2:

    Creative Audio Service

Set to Automatically start, no dependencies. I can't find anything with Google on this, so it must be new. What is this for, and do I need it to auto-start?

    Thanks.

I wasn't able to dig any info up on this. It seems a lot of folks are asking the same question.
I did see some suggestions about stopping the service, but no responses as to whether it stopped anything from working.
You could try that and if it interferes with something, just restart the service.
