creative sb x-fi opinions

was wandering if any here own or have any experince with this sound card. ive read reviews but id like the opinions from people who use it every day. i also read that some have problems with it using certain motherboards and installing the software. my current sound card is a regular sb live. games and music sound pretty good on it. i have it hooked up to a set of logitech 2.1 speakers.

I replaced my Audigy 2ZS with X-Fi just a couple weeks ago, so far both driver and softwares work better than the Audigy series. I have similar rig setup as yours and whether you're a gamer or a music lover, this card will definitely give you higher satisfaction than SB.

The only hassle was uninstalling and cleaning up Audigy driver and related softwares, the instructions on Creative's Knowledge Base didn't help much!

thanks for the response. hopefully if i get an x-fi sound card my drivers wont be to much of a hassle to uninstall

 

Your very welcome

Just be sure to uninstall old sound card driver and its utilities before you install X-Fi, also it's easier to do the uninstall by locating the 'Uninstall' option from your old sound card installation disk and clear all old entries from your Registry. It caused me a lot of hassles when I first uninstalled Audigy 2 from Add/Remove and ended up having errors installating X-Fi. Hope this help!
