Creative Zen Vision M driver issue?

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this or not, but here goes...

I just purchased a Creative Zen Vision M portable media player for my daughter for her birthday. I installed the program according to the instructions, and then hooked the thing up via the usb port like you're supposed to do. It immediately shows that a device is connected, and starts searching for the driver. It then says that it fails and remains unrecognized. I can open Device Manager, and see it there, but it has the infamous yellow exclamation point!

I have been through several other forums, including the Creative site (which is a JOKE!). I've tried everything they say and nothing works. One site did mention changing the USB in regedit to "everyone - full access", but when I try to save the changes it says "access denied" (yes, I am the administrator account). This seems to have worked for several other people according to the forums, so is there something I should know about the "access denied" part or something. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit, if that helps.

I am somewhat knowledgable with computers, but not completely, so if you assume I know something, please DON'T! I tried installing in my laptop and got the same result....that was running Windows XP Professional SP2. Thanks for any help you can offer.....you have NO IDEA what it is like with a 12 year old girl who can't use her MP3 player! Or....maybe you do....so you know how "important" it is! Thanks again for any help, and if I'm posting in the wrong place, please steer me in the right direction! Thanks again!

I've already tried everything on this page.....nothing works! I have even been in contact with the Creative support team, and no one seems to be able to help! I know people with Vista have gotten it to work, so there must be a fix somewhere! I just can't find it...:(

hey i own a zen vision m and a similar thing happened to me. this is probably a long shot coz the guys at creative may have already told you this but i dont think you can access the creative unless you have the sync manager running. it wouldnt let me access it until i had the sync manager going.
    hope this helps

Sync Manager doesn't recognize either....this is very discouraging at this point!
