Some cheeky so an so tried to use my credit card, my bank was right on the case though and stopped the fraudster, I had only used it three times in about a week, I know exactly where and when, but when I asked the bank if they would let me have some details so as to avoid using any of the suspect establishments, the credit card company declined to give me the information. I can obviously avoid the two shops/stores. But one place I tried to use my card was my local borough council, bit worrying if local government is so short of funds its turning to fraud rolleyes

I just made an online purchase on Friday morning to replace a pillow from my bed. I used my Amex. Stupid me didn't check their security for their online check out.

Next thing you know I'm getting a call from an online monthly fee router company who was calling to see if I was authorizing the charge for their service. I called Amex who immediately cancelled my card. They also refunded another 300 bucks in charges for another software website.

    Expletive goes here.

    Gotta love Amex though.

The thing is it doesn't have to be any of those stores that took the info. It could be a hacked ATM, it could be a random internet trawl, or it could be someone going through old personal documents that have been thrown out but not destroyed. There are hundreds of ways of scamming you these days.
