CRIKEY! His gone :(

Hi Guys,

Well while my Computer was down, sadly our ambasador, Steve Irwin was killed while swimming in the waters off brisbane are, and filming a part for his daughters Television show, and was stabbed in the chest/heart by a whopping great big sting ray!


I dunno what he was like over their in the states, or London, but here he was the best thing we had, and so down to earth, colourful, on the go, energy, everything!

Sadly, no one could ever replace him, his charm, wit, character, chrisma!

Even if you didn't know him personally, you still knew him!

My condolences to his family, friends and relatives!

4th September will always be australia's sad day! for each and every australian!

 

Popular over here too. More entertaining than most of the animal shows I've seen over the years, particularly for kids, that won't sit still for dry and boring. He tended to dance on the edge some, so it's not all THAT surprising that one of the animals finally got him, but it always comes as a shock, and yes, he'll be missed.

 

There's another topic about this. But yeah, he'll be missed.

 

We loved him over here. He was always fun to watch and if I was surfing the channels and he was on like Maury or Leno I'd watch till he was done. We will miss him.

 

Yep, he didn't even have time say "Crikey!!".

He certainly fired the imagination of a lot of people. It's only the third Stingray fatality in Australia. He was only 44. I feel bad for his wife and children, but at least he died doing what he liked best.

 

Well like his father said yesterday at 1:05pm in a live television interview, he died while doing something that was the core of his passion, and thats alot better than getting hit by a bus!

I am just shocked that he is gone, he is a wildlife warrior at the heart of the 'Warrior' word!

I`ve never known anyone that can do what he does, at ANY time of the day or night, smiling, and so enthusiastic! when it came on the news that he had passed away, and it showed his mate and manager, crying & breaking down, my mind and thought's went absolutely numb!

I wonder if they will ever release the footage of his last moments alive?

 

Discovery says they won't release it. Even if it's leaked I won't be intersested in seeing it and it will probably be leaked by someone looking for a buck.

 

There is a reason for that. All deaths in Australia that have occurred by accident or misadventure have mandatory Coronial Enquiry. That's why (a) The police posses all information/evidence at this stage, and (b) why it won't be released until the Coroner’s Report is released, at least.

I recently had a very close friend that died in the outback. It was much the same deal.

It's not just down to the americans, there is a debate here in australia whether it should be released or not, currently its 50/50 really.

Disgusting it's even being debated!

 

I certainly hope they don't release the film if it shows him being killed. Think how traumatic it would be if his children saw it.

I will miss him very much, he was one of my favorites.

Personally, it's twisted in my mind to want to see a mans last moment, he wasn't a friggin terroist, so it isn't going to give anyone momentum, or satisfaction watching it.

The only video of death I saw was when that american got his head decapitated a while back, I somehow got it, cant remember how, it was relabled, and when I saw it, I got a shock moment, and vow never to witness something like that again, that changed me!

If it was Osama, then I`d ask for it to be broadcast live, but thats it!

 

Yeah, definitely not something I'd want to see, or any of my family. Bad enough it even happened. Sadly, there are always the profiteers and ghoul mentalities around.

I wander if the person who does end up copying it, then transferring it into digital media, sits there and thinks at all about the repracutions?

Last night on the news, then current affairs show, they showed the debate about whether to release the footage or not, I couldn't wrap my mind around the fact that it's even being contemplated!

 

It is not being contemplated by those that were there at the time.
It maybe leaked of course, by someone trying to maka a buck. (not his friends)

As to the current affairs program, they are only trying to drum up more viewers by acting as "shock jocks", IMHO. Bazza

I meant no disrespect, I just couldn't remember the guys name, although that video still haunts me today, I can vividly see it, wish I couldn't, was the most shocking thing I`ve ever seen!

My neighbour at the time, however wanted a copy of it, I think I told him to F.O out the door that day!

 

If that isn't bad enough, stock car racing legend, Perter Brock died yesterday.
