    Hi all

I have an active dsl connection on my Router (zoom x5), Its control panel gives me tons of settings to play with...

what settings do I need to match (like ip address, gateway) to get internet explorer to actually connect to the net?

The network connection is active and giving me duration time and the like but for the life of me I cannot seem to get the computer to suck information from router .. I have disabled both the hardware firewall from the router and the software firewall from the network just in case its that thats causing the problems, I have also messed with whatever settings I could understand but am still having no luck whatsoever !!! Could anyone suggest any ideas ?

Win XP, zoom x5 ADSL modem router, aol internet provider

I do not know about AOL since at times they have "kinky" arrangments.

However for Normal DSL: DSL Routers and PPPOE.
