I googled this, but I couldn't find anything definitive. Is it worth getting an LCD with a higher dp to avoid the radiation, or is it better to stick with a CRT.

Any help would be appreciated. I have to go buy it this afternoon.

    Current choice - Viewsonic A90f+ ~CAN$320

there is really no need to worry about radiation from crt monitors. you get more radiation every day from cellphones, microwaves, tvs, and all the other various electronics in our world. the amount of radiation released is so minimal. so in the end it just comes down to if you want to shell out the dough fro an lcd

Agreed. Over the years the CRT manufacturers have reduced emissions to a minimum.

Particularly the TCO99 spec. Anything built after 1999 that hit that spec (virtually all of them) is safe to hug 24/7.

Early monitors emitted enough radiation to be a long-term concern, but those times are long gone.
