    What service pack is installed?

Apparently this was corrected in SP2. Here is info about a manual fix

for the moment, just have a look in your registry at the proper location.

Hi plodr, I was wondering the same thing. I am seeing the same error:

I have XP PRO SP3, and it is repeating several times. I'll take a look at your link, and see if I can find anything .... Seems odd, tho to me. :confused

Hi luckyvic, I see you too have SP3, so you already have the latest SP installed. I don't know what else it could be, but my error says something different than yours:

This could be well worth investigating, because the link in mine, is not even valid.

Have you visited Microsoft Update, and checked for any updates lately? I know * came thru yesterday. Mine all downloaded and installed, did yours?

Also, did you check out Plodr's link?

Hi luckyvic :wave I got the same updates, all 9 of them. Are you having any other issues? I am not, so I don't really think it is anything to worry about if you are NOT getting any other errors. Might just have to wait for Microsoft to send us a fix for that. I am sure we aren't the only ones, and seems to be hitting XP. Might just be a temp thing, because I just noticed it myself in event viewer. Seems to have been going on a while, and I am not getting any errors. Are you?

Hi again, Luckyvic, you might want to try this link:

An easy fix for that error. Just read it, and do what it says, and see if that helps. I just did, and will keep an eye on the event viewer. Yeah, took me a while to find it too. ;)
