Cryptainer

In process of trying to find a free USB encryption software I installed Cryptainer on a USB drive. Now it has a virtual drive and no way can I restore the drive to original even by formatting the drive.

Any suggestions on fixing this problem?

I would like to copy files (taxes, banking etc) from HD to USB and then encrypt. What software would the users here suggest?

 

OK got the USB drive back to normal by using diskmgmt.
No on to finding a good free software encrypting program

If I felt the need to protect something, I'd right click a folder or file select 7-zip, zip it up and password protect it.

I've been using Cryptainer for many years without problems. Rather then moving files to the flash drive and then trying to encrypt the whole drive you first create a Cryptainer volume on the flash drive and then move your files into the volume using it's temporary drive letter. When you exit Cryptainer neither the drive letter nor your files will be accessible or even visible but the rest of the flash drive will continue to behave normally.

If you haven't found a suitable program yet I really recommend you try Cryptainer again.
