anyone know any good fps boosters for cs source

lately since the update like a few days ago iv been hitting some inconsistant fps and its driving me crazy like a half second lag is really bothering me if anyone knows of some sweet tweaks let me know thanks

im running pentium 3.2
msi 5900xt and i was getting 100fps straight before the update now its up and down from 50

1gig of pc 4000

on a p4p800-e deluxe board

if someone has something please let me know

 

I believe with the latest update for the source engine, the way it handles shaders and some texture types was slightly changed to improve load times in the initial load and between maps.

Check that you have the latest drivers for your video card, as it may have made a difference.

Secondly, try turning your shader type from 2.0 down to 1.0, or off. You will notice quite a substantial performance boost then.

Check to make sure you dont accidentally have AF (anisotropic filtering) on. If you've got that on 8x or 16x or something, it can hit mid-range cards pretty hard performance wise, and you may not be aware that it's on.

Lastly, you can always reformat. Not the recommended option tho,

 

The skipping/lag is from bag programing/netcode/etc...check out my system req and the game STILL manages to skip and lag the same way yours does.

 

Sorry for posting so late, but just in case you come back to look at it, have you tried any console commands to tweak out the FPS? If you've tried a few but not sure about all of them, check out this website. Even though it's old, all the commands are the same and still hold true. This is one of the best sites I've come across that gives you awesome information:
