Ctrl + alt+ delete

    Whenever I press these keys, the system takes forever to respond. Once it does, everything works fine and fast, but these keys could take up to a few minutes before the screen comes back. Im running Xp Pro. Any suggestions as to why this might be happening?

    What is causing you in the first instance to have the need to press Ctrl-alt-del?

    Have you checked for malware on your PC and run some scans with your Antivirus application? also what security software do you have installed, please name all of them.

    Is your XP Pro fully upto date with all Service Packs and updates?

    If you boot into Safe Mode, and then press ctrl-alt-del do you have the same hang waiting for the Task Manager to start?

    Are you having any other issues with your Windows or 3rd party applications, any BSODs or crashes, errors etc?

    Its a PC here at work. We need to CTRL+ALT+DELETE to logon. I will try the safe mode and see. I think we use CA antivirus here and blackice firewall.
