The technical information obtained from the first click here would be a more interesting shot.

well it has happened a few times, next time i will try and get the other screens too, is there a program that will record logs so i could just post the log?

Where it says to view the technical information click here, guess what?

This produces a text file to send to M%. Copy the text to a ost or attach as a txt file.

So run the memory diagnostic tool.
This runs outside windows at boottime.

    start>typein
    mdsched.exe
Choose to restart now and check or check at next start.

Since memory checking takes quite a while you may wish to do the deferred check and run it in a slack period, like overnight.

Vista is exceptionally fussy about memory, lots of modules that are perfectly satisfactory with XP cause hiccups with Vista.

Sorry I looked to quickly at the last screenshot.

The Windows memory diagnostic tool is part of Vista so I assumed you had that OS.

But Microsoft is suggesting you download it from them, it will also run under XP.

In XP you type into the run box

    start>run

You can also download it right here at MajorGeeks:

Personally, I really like this RAM diagnostic. You create a floppy or CD that you boot to, and it runs independent of Windows. Be sure to run at least 3 or 4 passes using the extended tests, or just let it run overnight as suggested above.

does this test ever end? and does it output like a log or something, i let it run for 20 hours and it never finished, mad it to 21 passes

ok i got the exact same ram in there and it did it again, GAH

i got it in the same channels, the yellow ones perhaps i should try the black, now the asus site says it will accept patriot ram and 2.2v, uhh where do i check to make sure it is using 2.2x? i looked in the bios best i could find was this

    Hardware monitor

    chasis q-fan
    vcore voltage 1.32
    3.3v - 3.34
    5 volt - 4.89
    12v - 11.98
cpu fan warning speed - 1200

No. The test does not end. It will run forever until you end it. I'm pretty sure it says this right on the screen. And no, it doesn't generate a log. It will display the results right on the screen. The lower portion of the screen will detail the errors if any are found. Usually 3 to 5 passes running the extended tests is sufficient to see if the RAM is flakey or not.
