:)Hi = First time talker - long time looker - - LOL
I've been looking the last coupla days at the threads, posts and searched for answers but have not found anything. Some similar and tried a few things but still have a problem. WinXP- SP3 - Computer locks up at random intervals always when I am moving the cursor - EVERYTHING locked - no keyboard - no Ctrl - Alt - Del - - I left it til the morning once - only way to get it going is reset or restart. Tried a different mouse - drivers for mouse and display -
Don't know much - do know I am stalled with this. I hope someone has an answer. Thanx for your time and attention.

    Welcome to the MG Forums!

I do not have an answer for you, but some questions that may help other forum members to help you:
    - is that something that started recently, all of a sudden, or has that been happening for a long time?
    - what are these random intervals - every few minutes, or hours, or days?
    - Ctrl+Alt+Del does nothing; how about other keyboard shortcuts like Alt+Tab (switch between open program windows), or Ctrl+Esc (Start menu)?

I have been using AVG for anti-virus/ spyware - - should I also use the Super? I have usually had more than one - but somewhere on your site I read about disabling all but one for the purpose of your diagnosing?

Do you try a different keyboard ? Yes you must run Super , you can download this tool

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/CCleaner_Standard_d5125.html

you have to launch the programme
From the left side you can choose Tools ( third tab )
From the left column choosing Startup ( second tab )

disabling all except for antivirus , after that you have to inspect the situation of your computer :wave

I disabled the items using CCCleaner and installed SUPER - found one AD thing - and the cursor thing happened again a little while later - I had just let loose one blast of nasty names and was recharging my lungs when the screen went black for an instant and then all came back on - working great - been a few hours now - ? Hoping - - -

I have added a new keyboard - done the SUPER thing again - - still have the problem.
After reboot I get a message I have seen a couple times before but not for a while - -
"Could not load file or assembly 'MOM.Implementation,Version=2.0.25313,CULTURE=neutral,PublicKeyToken=906a9c70f846762e' "
(I don't like to be such a pain in the butt!)
Thanx again for your time and attention,
    Tom

Has to do with your vid caed.
    Fix:
Steps to fix CCC (Catalyst Control Center) from not opening:
    1) Go to C:\windows\Assembly
    2) Right click on each listing that starts with either ACE, CCC, or MOM and select uninstall.
    3) Relaunch CCC

Removed your attachment, Colemanguy noticed your serial number was in it.

I appreciate your attention. What can the Ser# be used for?

I appreciate your help. I did that and it kept coming up with more 'files'/ it could not find. I went back to ATI website and , further down the page, found where it said I needed to use an older 'set of drivers?' - 'install?' - anyhoo - I re-installed the older release and it seems to be working. Thanx for your direction - I like to learn. Take good care.

Someone uses your serial number to install a pirated copy of windows. You'll get the message that you don't have a valid Windows install and end up calling Microsoft.
The Windows Serial is like gold. Guard it carefully!
