cursor touble

Hi,

This one is strange! I use the AOL software on a broadband connection. Everytime I'm in a chat window and the ad changes, I lose the cursor! I have to click inside the box and resume typing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software. Also have run spyware scans. This also happens when I use the instant messenger. But it happens only if I have a chat window open. This seems to be happening only on my computer, because in a friends house, I went to the same chat rooms and there were no issues. But on my machine, it happens on any chat room that I am on.
Any suggestions (other than switching from AOL...lol) would be appreciated.
