customer wireless icon is not displaying the bars, its showing a gold star

Hi, I'm new here... this morning when I signed on I noticed the icon that shows my internet connection is no longer showing bars as it's suppose too, but is now showing a single gold star. I have disconnected and reconnected several times , I also did a trouble shoot and nothing seems to be helping. It shows me that I am connected when I open the customer wireless internet access box but for some reason the icon on the task bar still showing a single gold star.
Can someone help me fix this please?

 

I used the Tweaking software I saw on this site and the problem is now fixed. YAH!!! Thanks MajorGeeks, I will come here from now on instead of researching for solutions as I was before.

 

I spoke too soon... Now I'm having a problem with windows opening real slow when I open my browser and emails :-( What do I now to fix this new issue?
