    hey all,

I just got my new computer up and running, its a AMD XP 3200+, 1 gig ram, radeon 9800 pro. I have Windows XP professional, and was wondering one thing...

Are there any tweaking programs people have created that 'cut out the fat' of XP to save resources? I don't need much in the way of running processes, when I had windows 98, it was only systemtray and explorer, but I guess you can't do that with XP :p

Any names of programs would be great! Thanks guys

I've often seen the advice to go to "black viper's" website:
http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm regarding configuring and cutting out system services you don't need.

I've gone there myself -- easy to understand explanations :)

    Also this site:
    http://mywebpages.comcast.net/SupportCD/OptimizeXP.html
mentions black viper in step 6 and TWEAKS in step 7
